About Charlie

I produce beautiful images that capture your character and energy. Innovative and original, these photos will be a work of art to treasure.

Having grown up in rural England, with a feeling of space, freedom and happiness, I try to incorporate these values into my photography.  The use of natural light is preferred to achieve the most natural looking results.

As a mother; my young energetic son has influenced my photographic style. I understand that to create great images; relaxed happy subjects are needed. With extensive experience working with Children, I understand their need to explore, their passion for life and the challenges this creates whilst trying to capture that perfect portrait!

Family and childrens photographic sessions with me regularly include a game of tag, hide and seek and lots of fun!

I love what I do, and really enjoy children's, newborn, and family photography and photographing weddings and family gatherings.

Living near Tetbury in Gloucestershire, I enjoy spending time with my family, dog and chickens. Any spare time is devoted to horse riding, exploring the local countryside, world travel and enjoying a good bottle of red wine!

 Customer testimonials

The photo session was a delight. The website easy to use and review our images. Charlotte's attention to detail was good and she pulled all the stops out to make sure we were completely satisfied!

Charlie was the photographer for my wedding she was fantastic! The images are very natural just what we wanted and everyone commented on how great she was. The children were at ease with her also there was even one child who hates being photographed and Charlie managed to get some really great images with her! I could not have asked for a better photographer and will be highly recommending her.

We could not recommend Charlotte highly enough. She has now done three photoshoots with our little boy from when he was just 11 weeks. The pictures are beautiful, very natural and even me who hates my photo taken feels totally at ease during the session. We are now spoilt for choice with having so many photos to treasure

Charlie, I still can't believe how much less stress is involved with you taking the pictures, rather than being in a studio. Thanks so much - Toni

Photographic recognition and awards

Each month I enter a number of my images into monthly competitions run by the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and The Guild of Photographers (GPP).

The images shown below have all been awarded a bronze or silver by these associations. These awards recognise not only technical excellence, but also the ability of an image to tell a story, portray a mood and connect with the viewer.

Winner of national "Great British Place" Photography competition run by

"Great British Life"

In April 2010, I entered an image taken in the UK of a mountain biker above Constantine Bay into a national online photographic competition run by Great British Life to find images depicting great British places. The image was shortlisted from over 400 images entered on a national level to the last 10. Then the image went on to be placed 3rd overall. I was thrilled that the quality and unique nature of this image had been recognised.

Winner of Arlington Heights Almanac photo contest
In November 2008, a number of my photos were entered in the Arlington Heights Almanac photo contest. This publication has a circulation of around 80,000 city residents, and the competition was judged by three professional photographers in the NW Chicago land area in the USA.

Category 2 - Action

Winner: Charlotte Bellamy

From the panel: Personally, I love everything about this shot (the rest of the panel did, too). Composition is wonderful, and the action is clear. We liked how the child is through more than half of the photo, so you see not only where he is running to, but also where he's been. Lighting is perfect—if you look at the shadows, you can tell the shot was taken in late afternoon, which is a perfect time for flattering lighting on people.
